Next July 1st at 1pm, in the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies, the conductor, composer and teacher Domenico Virgili will present his new volume “The Art of Conducting – Conduct the Orchestra: Musical Phenomenology”, published by the Swiss publishing house Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia.

The initiative represents a high-profile cultural and institutional event desired by the Honorable Gimmi Cangiano, member of the Seventh Committee on Culture, Science and Education of the Chamber of Deputies, confirming the focus on promoting Italian excellence and fostering dialogue between culture, education, and research at an international level.
Conductor Virgili's essay is part of the contemporary debate on conducting, transcending the scope of a technical manual to arrive at a broader and deeper reflection: the "phenomenology of sound," understood as the dynamic relationship between the conductor's gesture, the composer's intention, and the orchestra's interpretive response.
